Napa Valley Wine Country Tours, a 15-year veteran in the transportation business, presents our newest and most popular tour. “San Francisco to Wine Country Tour” is a Bay Bridge to Golden Gate Bridge Napa-Sonoma wine and food experience. The pick-up and drop-off points are at Pier 39, in front of Hard Rock Café at 8:10 AM, and then Union Square, across from Macy’s at 8:30 AM. Whether limo buses or limousines, each vehicle has wet bars stocked with iced water available all day long. Once on board, enjoy an early “Wine Country Breakfast” – croissants, rolls, pastries, fruit cup – and later a tray of fresh vegetables and fruit.
Your knowledgeable and experienced driver will point out sites of interest and answer questions as you travel to and through Wine Country. Among the wineries and sites you may visit are Jacuzzi Winery, The Olive Press, Cline Cellars, Larson Family, Artesa Winery, Grange Collective, Roshambo, Madonna Estate, Hopper Creek and Hagafen. These wineries, as diverse in appearance as in the wines they offer, represent a wonderful cross section of delectable tastes in both Sonoma and Napa Counties. For the foodies, an olive oil tasting by The Olive Press should please the senses. Cornerstone Gardens, the unique outdoor landscape museum, offers a relaxing spot, full of flavor and sensual surrounds; wine, food, art, shopping and gardens can be enjoyed at whim. From the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate, flavors abound.
And, yes, our picnic lunch will not disappoint: a sandwich of your own choosing complemented with a Caesar salad and a pasta salad (our own recipe) and a dessert you can enjoy all afternoon. A treat for body and soul.

The Olive Press (Sonoma, CA)
Tasting of Italian wines and flavored olive oils.
The Olive Press is an original, highly awarded California Olive Oil producer. It began in 1995 by Ed Stolman (Lunigiana) & Deborah Rogers (Marquesa), two California olive growers inspired by the olive pressing facilities of Italy and Southern France. www.theolivepress.com
Roche Winery (Sonoma, CA)
Private Tour and Tasting.
Tasting at this charming family-run tasting room just off the square in Sonoma. The Roche family does not sell its wine in stores and now produces more than ten varieties of wine including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as several dessert wines and proprietary blends. Sip these hand-crafted wines while enjoying the ambiance of downtown Sonoma. By California standards, Roche is a small winery producing only 5,000 cases per year. www.rochewinery.com
Cline Cellars (Sonoma)
Cline Cellars has earned a reputation for producing some of the finest Rhone-style wines and Zinfandels in California. Indeed, Fred Cline was a pioneer in planting syrah, viognier, marsanne and roussanne grape varieties in the Carneros region. The tasting room is located in an 1850’s farm house, surrounded by ponds and flowers, on the site of a Miwok Village. www.clinecellars.com
Sonoma Plaza
Sonoma’s central square – at 9 acres, the largest plaza in California – surrounded by trees, fountains, historic buildings, shops, restaurants and tasting rooms, is the perfect place for strolling, window shopping and wine tasting. The town hall, in the center of it all, has even been the back drop for several Hollywood movies.
Madonna Estate (Napa)
Enjoy a walk in the vineyard (weather permitting) before sipping Madonna Estate wines. These Napa wines have been handcrafted by the Bartolucci family for over 80 years. They are created from 100% organically grown grapes which are dry farmed on the estate vineyard, Madonna Estate produces 10 varietals, including Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, for which the Carneros region is best known. www.madonnaestate.com
Hopper Creek (Yountville)
Hopper Creek is one of the most unusual small wineries you’ll ever visit. Case production is only 2500, and the total acreage owned by the winery a mere 6 acres (although the winery purchases additional grapes from other counties). The tasting room is located in the winery’s barrel room, with a rustic décor of photos, souvenirs, Wappo Indian relics and barrels. Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; also Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Petite Syrah. www.hoppercreek.com
Hagafen (Napa)
Hagafen specializes in small-lot releases of many different varietals which allow them to hand-select and produce the absolute best of each year’s production. Vintner Ernie Weir wants to make one thing perfectly clear: Yes, his wines are kosher; but first and foremost, they are award-winning Napa Valley wines. As testament to his expertise, Hagafen wines have been served in The White House since the first Reagan administration. www.hagafen.com
In our constant quest to improve our tour, other wineries may be considered in the future. We may even include a winery or two with a nominal tasting fee to ensure that our guests have the best tour possible.
