What tours do you offer?
We offer two types of tours: Private Custom Tours for groups or individuals and three different daily join-in group tours. We have almost 20 years of experience living and touring in the Napa and Sonoma Valley wine regions. Our chauffeurs have extensive knowledge of the Wine Country. Our fleet is diverse so whatever the size of your group, we have the ideal vehicle for you. Whether you are a wine collector or a self proclaimed novice our chauffeurs can help plan the perfect day for you. We will help you select your wineries and then make the appointments for you.
We have a daily group tour from Napa: the Daily Wine Tour. The tour will start at 11 am and will end around 5 pm. You will visit 4 to 5 wineries from the small boutique to the larger well known. We will pick you up at your hotel in limousine style comfort. You and your new found friends will experience wine country together. Although this tour is chauffeur directed, the group will have input on the winery choices. The tour is different every day, so you can take it more than once and have a different experience.
We have two daily group tours from San Francisco: The San Francisco to Wine Country Tour starts at 8 am and ends about 5 pm. The first stop will be the Golden Gate Bridge for a vista photo opportunity with a mimosa toast. From there you will visit 4 wineries between Sonoma and Napa. You will have continental breakfast on board first thing in the morning. Enjoy a beautifully prepared picnic lunch at a winery. At the helm is our expert wine country guide; whose knowledge is intimate because this is where he lives!
Our second join-in group tour from San Francisco starts with a stop in Muir Woods to gawk at the redwoods. Labeled “The Best of the Best,” or “Woods, Wine and Water,” this tour stops for a sit-down tasting at a premium winery in Sonoma, then visits Sonoma Plaza and Cornerstone Gardens and ends in Sausalito with a ferry ticket for a cruise across the Bay back to San Francisco at your leisure.
What other transportation services do you provide?
We offer airport transportation to San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento Airports. We also can provide transportation to sporting events and concerts as well as transportation to any destination within California. Dinner transportation to and from any local Napa or Sonoma restaurant is also a popular option.
How do we book a reservation?
If you are booking a custom tour, it is best to call 707-226-3333 or 800-578-0115. Join-in group tours can easily be booked online. It is a simple one page form. We will send you a confirmation when the booking is complete.
How far in advance do I need to book?
March through November is our “peak” season and Saturdays are always busy year round. For private tours, book more in advance to secure the vehicle of your choice. The daily group tours are less likely to fully book but if you have a solid date…book it. If it does fill up, you can go the next day. It is always good to secure a reservation as soon as you are sure of your plans.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our policy is 72 hours on the group tours, 5 days prior to your tour for Private Tours, 30 days for vehicles for groups of 15 passengers or more. The cancellation must be confirmed. Please email or call the office and we will send a cancellation confirmation. A credit card is always taken to secure your reservation and the full charge will apply if canceled late.
How do we dress?
We like to say, dress for comfort. Wind and rain are occasionally a consideration; Napa and Sonoma are beautiful in all weather. Spring to fall, think “layers.” The Napa Valley can be a bit warmer than San Francisco.
If I purchase wine, what is the best way to get it home?
The wineries ship and there are several independent shippers in the Napa Valley. Clients can also check their wine as baggage on their flights home in the boxed ‘styrofoam’ capsules that you can purchase here. They come in 3, 6, and 12 bottle capacities and are sold all around Wine Country. Ask your concierge if the hotel can arrange shipping your valuables. There are different laws affecting each state so ask if there are any special requirements for your state. Many times it is easier to ship to a business address because there is always someone to receive the package. Remember wine is perishable so sometimes shipments are held due to weather and shipped out when the time is right.
What about the food experience in the Wine Country?
Wine Country is known for a Wine and food mecca. There are so many good restaurants from the casual cafe to the Michelin star restaurants. There are so many world renowned chefs in the Napa Valley; Thomas Keller, Cindy Pawlcyn and Michael Chiarello are some of the local talent that feed the hungry. We recommend making your dinner reservations as soon as you have chosen the restaurant, especially Friday and Saturday nights. Many take walk-ins if tables or bar stools become available.
